Whisky Tuesday for St. Patrick’s Day, shall we? Whisky Club will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with some incredible Irish whiskey (and beer perhaps? Did anyone just mention Guin…?). With long history of whiskey production, Irish whiskey has been classified as one of the most popular type of whiskies in the world. Indeed Irish whiskey’s earliest history dates to the Middle Ages, with Irish monks brining distillation techniques from travels, creating uisce Beatha (“water of life) from fermented grain mash, with the oldest written record appearing in the 1405 Annals of Clonmacnoise.
To whisky enthusiasts, Irish Whiskey can easily be linked with descriptions like “mellow”, “rounded”, “easy-drinking”, and “hidden gem”. Moreover, Irish Whiskey produced in certain period of time are always described as “fruit bomb”. In this tasting, we will be tasting different Irish whiskeys – showing us different flavours, styles, and beauties of such Irish “heritage”.
