Japanese Craft Drinks Tasting: From Fermentation to Blending

Join us for a curated exploration of Japanese craft beverages, beginning with sake — featuring Kanpai, London’s pioneering sake brewery using time-honored Japanese methods. We’ll explore traditional fermentation techniques and rice polishing before moving into the world of shochu, highlighting Iichiko and their meticulous approach to grain treatment and distillation.

From there, we transition into the art of aging, with a focus on Japanese whisky, including a tasting of expressions from Nikka, one of Japan’s most iconic producers. We’ll conclude with the intricate world of blending, showcasing Ichiro’s Malt from Chichibu, a distillery known for innovation and craftsmanship in modern Japanese whisky.

Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a curious beginner, this journey through Japan’s diverse and nuanced alcohol traditions promises to be both educational and delicious.
