DESCRIPTION:Royston Wine & Spirits Festival 2018 Thursday 6th September 2018 Jura & Dalmore Whisky Tasting with Nick Barker  JURA  Jura. A remote island off the West Coast of Scotland. Only 60 miles from the mainland yet it feels like an entire world away; an ancient landscape of wild mountains\, peaceful lochs and stormy seas.With just one road\, one pub\, one distillery and a very distinct micro-climate\, it’s not an easy place to make whisky but Jura believe it’s the best.  DALMORE  In 1839\, Alexander Matheson searched for the perfect distillery location\, but his criteria were not the same as others. Some had already chosen to build their distilleries in the Speyside valley\, due to its established transport links and more hospitable climate. But Matheson was not swayed by creature comforts. His only concern was where he could find the best natural resources to make the finest whisky. So he settled on an isolated area on the banks of the Cromarty Firth\, laid bare to the harsh winds of the North Sea. On this wild land Matheson started from scratch\, building everything from warehouses to railways. Matheson forged his own path and by doing so ensured The Dalmore would always have its own unique character and taste.  Join us on Thursday 6th September for this unique back-to-back tasting of Jura and Dalmore Whiskies. The evening will be hosted by Nick Barker\, Premium Brand Manager and Whisky Specialist.   Nick will take us on a journey across Scotland. Don’t miss out.
